SFS® SOUND BARRIER SYSTEM
WHAT IS THE SFS® SOUND BARRIER SYSTEM?
The SFS® Sound Barrier System is a proprietary reinforced-concrete noise-control system that uses curved and corrugated panel geometry to improve the redirection and attenuation of sound waves compared with conventional flat barriers. The system can be adapted to different site geometries and has been professionally tested and constructed in Canadian commercial developments.
KEY TECHNICAL ADVANTAGES
Curved and corrugated reinforced-concrete geometry
Improves sound attenuation compared with conventional flat barriers
At least 30% higher efficiency than a flat surface, according to the system testing/presentation
Redirects and diffracts sound waves over a wider coverage area
Can be configured with concave, convex and other adapted geometries
Durable permanent reinforced-concrete construction
Suitable for transportation, commercial and infrastructure applications
Professionally tested and built in Canadian commercial developments
WHY IS THE SFS® SOUND BARRIER SYSTEM DIFFERENT?
Conventional noise barriers typically use flat surfaces made from wood, concrete, masonry or similar materials. The SFS® Sound Barrier System uses curved and corrugated reinforced-concrete geometry to redirect and diffract sound waves more effectively, increasing the sound-control coverage area and improving transmission loss.
The system can be adapted to different site conditions and geometries while providing a durable permanent structural barrier. Its curved configuration has been professionally tested and has been used in Canadian commercial developments.
The SFS® Sound Barrier System is particularly suitable for projects where traffic, industrial or urban noise must be controlled with a durable permanent barrier. Its curved and corrugated geometry can be adapted to different site conditions while improving sound-wave redirection compared with conventional flat barrier surfaces.
